Sunday 7th September – Friday 3rd October, 2025 – Olivier Cornet Gallery Stunning new work by Eoin MacLochlainn – highly evocative watercolours on wood depicting old fence posts, in a gallery run by Olivier Cornet who always has strong, subtly engaged work for us to see. Independent presidential candidate Catherine Connolly opened the show.
Scoil Acla Writers’ Workshop
Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August, 2025 – Keel, Achill Island, Co Mayo Stepping into the shoes of the late Macdara Woods and Kerry poet Paddy Bushe who delivered these daily 4-hour workshops for years. A great week of writing, discussion and fun.

Words Matter: Sing the Truth – an essay

Delighted to have been invited by Ciaran O´Rourke to write this essay for his excellent Ragpicker website. In it I look at writer´s block in these times of war and worse, find inspiration in a late aunt´s life and take a look at the existential danger AI holds for human langauge. A call to arms…
